Dr Nyasha Gwata is a highly specialised gynaecologist and advanced laparoscopic surgeon. She treats several conditions including endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, and cysts. Dr Nyasha specialises in complex laparoscopic (keyhole) and hysteroscopic surgery. Dr Nyasha is one of only a few Advanced Laparoscopic Surgeons in Australia accredited by the peak training body (AGES). Dr Nyasha believes in patient centred care and surgical excellence as the mainstay of her practice. She provides an environment where patients feel safe and empowered to manage their gynaecological problems.Dr Nyasha is an affiliated gynaecologist with Julia Argyrou Endometriosis Centre at Epworth.

After completing her undergraduate studies in Biomedical Science, Dr. Nyasha completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney. She went on to complete a Master’s in International Public Health with a focus on Women’s Health at the University of New South Wales.She then went on to complete her 6-year specialist training in Obstetrics and gynaecology at Monash Health in Melbourne, where she demonstrated an early affinity for minimally invasive procedures. She pursued an additional 2-year AGES fellowship training in advanced laparoscopic surgery under the mentorship of Associate Professor Jim Tsaltas. This specialized training equipped her with the knowledge and skills to perform intricate surgeries with minimally invasive techniques, reducing patient discomfort and promoting faster recovery. Dr Nyasha works publicly at Monash Health and privately at Epworth Freemasons, Melbourne.
